#Resume Writing tips

In my 15 years of technical recruiting I have many times thrown my hands up in a huff when getting a new resume from an senior engineer. Adding irrelevant and old technologies can cause convolution in one's resume.

Among the many things that go into writing an effective technical resume, one should always consider focusing on the relevant technologies that they have worked with. Adding extra technologies that have been glazed upon and not mastered can do more harm then good.

Nowadays there are so many "skill matcher" recruiters. One should keep in mind when updating or writing a resume their target audience in most cases is a non technical HR type.

Stay with specifics and relevance and stay away from less utilized skills on your resume.

Remember to highlight your strengths, this is going to be what differentiates you from the broad competition.
